Pearson Test of English Academic

The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTEA) is an English language test designed to assess the readiness of non-native English speakers to participate in university–level courses which are conducted in English. The PTE Academic is designed to meet the need for institutions, universities, governments and other organisations to be able to accurately assess the English language skills of students who are non-native speakers of English before they enter academic courses conducted in English.

The PTEA is an online test which focuses on real-life English as used in academic settings. This means that all four language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) are assessed during the test. Test-takers will hear a variety of accents and academic language similar to what they will encounter in English-speaking higher education.

The PTEA test score is recognised by nearly 6000 organisations worldwide, and is graded by a computer to minimise grader bias. The PTEA also allows you to get your test results within a few days.
