Novie Tajuddin is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).

Novie previously was the CEO of The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and brought with him a wealth of experience in the education industry and commercial. Before MICPA, Novie served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of EMGS and as a Director, Strategy & Engagement for Yayasan Peneraju, an agency under the Prime Minister’s office. Novie has been appointed as the Education Committee Member of MARA since 2020. He was conferred as Adjunct Professor by UNITAR International University in January 2022 and appointed as the Ambassador for Faculty of Accountancy, UiTM recently.

On the commercial side, he used to be the Regional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Getronics Asia Pacific & Japan (Dutch Company) which oversaw operations globally including SEAs, India, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan. He held key positions in various entities such as Abeam Consulting (Japanese Company), The IA Group, MIMOS Berhad and the Board of Director of Technology Park Malaysia (TPM) (2017-2020).

He holds a Bachelor in Accounting and Finance (Hons) from De Montfort University, Leicester, UK and a Diploma in Accountancy (UiTM). He is a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and Fellow member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

With over 26 years of experience in General Management, Accounting & Finance, Operations, Business Development, Strategic Planning & Strategic Engagement and also in IT, Consulting & Outsourcing industry, Novie is well-versed in the area of Planning, Strategy, Engagement, Business Process, Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, HR & Payroll outsourcing. Novie brings unique composition of experience in multi-nationals and local conglomerates.

Rahimah Binti Tan Sri Ibrahim leads the Marketing, Communications, and Branding for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).

Rahimah is also responsible for the overall branding development plans for EMGS. She is tasked to oversee Branding, Creative, Digital Marketing, Marketing, and shaping overall brand standards for EMGS.

With more than 30 years of experience in the local and international advertising industry, Rahimah brings on board her expertise in various disciplines including but not limited to, marketing communications, advertising, media planning, and branding. With more than 30 years of experience in managing GLC’s clientele, she has a proven government relations expert with deep knowledge of stakeholder management, especially with senior government officials including Ministers.

Prior to joining EMGS, Rahimah was in the industry of branding and advertising for more than 15 years with M&C Saatchi Kuala Lumpur, an award-winning international advertising agency. Her outstanding career began as the Senior Group Brand Director where she previously pioneered the government portfolio in the M&C Saatchi Kuala Lumpur office and she has served three Tourism Ministers for the past 14 years, handling Europe, Americas, and Oceania market, the biggest continent in Tourism Malaysia market segment. Her main responsibilities were to ensure all campaigns are targeted to the right market segments across all three continents in promoting the brand Malaysia, Truly Asia. During her tenure with M&C Saatchi, Rahimah was part of the notable achievements of the agency where they have won multiple awards for the Tourism Malaysia Campaign for Europe, Americas, and Oceania Market – the 2016 FIRST STAR WINNER Print Category “Wau”, 2015 GOLD – Malaysia Year of Festivals “Wayang Kulit” and 2015 GOLD – “Malaysia Truly Asia: The Essence of Asia TVC”.

Rahimah studied A-Level at Concorde College, Birmingham, UK, and obtained a Business Administration degree in Marketing at Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, the United States of America.

Ramlan leads the International Student Management Services for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).

He is responsible to manage the overall management and processing of international students’ visa applications. He is tasked to ensure that the rules, regulations and guidelines are within the process of the online visa application (STARS) as well as to facilitate the process of new, progression, transfer and renewal of international students’ visa applications.

He obtains his Certification as Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and Certified Ethic Hacker (CEH) in the year 2000 and 2001. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science and a Masters in Science in Computer Engineering.

Prior to joining EMGS, he was attached to the Expatriate Unit, Standards and Registration Division, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and was seconded to EMGS in July 2012. During his tenure in MOHE, he was involved in the development of an online system for Visa application which was known as e-Pas System. The system was enhanced and replaced by the Immigration Department known as e-Student. The current system which has been built by EMGS for Visa application was inspired by the earlier systems. He was also one of the key personnel in advising the initial development and progress of the Student Application and Registration System (STARS).

He was also involved in the development of comprehensive management of Private Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) administration system known as “IPT Formation Management System” (IFMS) used by the Department of Higher Education. He used to be the administrator for the system and desk officer of data management pertaining to PHEIs where all processes within the department such formation of PHEI, registration of courses, teaching permit and international recruitment license are largely involved.

He started his career as a teacher in 1981 teaching Mathematics and was awarded and promoted to “Guru Cemerlang” in 1994.

Esther Low
Director – Marketing

Esther leads the Marketing Department for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).

She is in charge of leading the marketing efforts and responsible for guiding the marketing department by evaluating and developing marketing strategies, planning and coordinating marketing efforts for EMGS.

She obtains her Google Analytic Certification in the year of 2017. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the University of Otago and a Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

Esther brings over 13 years of experience as a true-blue marketing professional with a deep passion for digital. In her role, she shaped the marketing team to think and breathe with Analytics, Search and Social Media.

Prior to joining EMGS, Esther has led the marketing efforts by serving Senior managerial roles at LexisNexis, British Council, Beiersdorf and Fraser & Neave Holdings Sdn Bhd. During her tenure in LexisNexis, she had led with the global digital team and regional team to successfully relaunch a new eCommerce platform for the Malaysia and Singapore eStore in Jul 2016 which has led to revenue growth in the 1st year.

Mohd. Azlan Bin Abd. Aziz is the Director for the Finance, Accounts & Procurement Department for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).

He is responsible mainly for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department.

He received his Diploma in Accountancy in the year 2000 from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Accountancy also from UiTM in 2002.

He brings over his skillset in Accounting with more than 20 years of experience. Prior to EMGS, Azlan was a Manager Account Receivable and Revenue at Beta Tegap Sdn Bhd. He gained his wealth of knowledge through his outstanding career, serving as Account executives and managerial positions at Hasnan & Co, KUB Malaysia Berhad, Academy of Knowledge for Accounting and Leadership.

Mahathir Bin Tan Sri Mohd Bakri is the Director – Human Resources & IT Department for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).

He is responsible to oversee the human resources department and insurers of the function and duties being carried out by the Human Resources team including planning, directing, and coordinating the administrative functions of EMGS.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management of Human Resource from Excelsior College, New York in 2004. His other credentials also include Certified Masters Business Administration from Oxford School of Management Education in 2017 and Executive Masters in Strategic Human Capital and Organizational Development in 2017.

Mahathir is an accomplished human resource practitioner with over 15 years of comprehensive experience. He brings a great wealth of experience and knowledge, and amongst the professional roles he has held prior to joining Education Malaysia Global Services compromises of; Human Resource & Admin Manager at Nord Anglia Education Middle East Holdings and Senior Manager of Human Resource at Sapura Aero and Sapura Resources Berhad.

His 20-year career spans an array of diverse experiences, blending technology, big data analytics, and digital marketing to forge a unique path in the industry. He founded his own Digital Marketing agency, Flying Elephant Sdn Bhd demonstrating remarkable proficiency in deploying advanced digital marketing strategies and AI-powered platforms. Under his leadership, the company has achieved a stellar annual client retention rate of 95%, alongside significant enhancements in online visibility, engagement, and conversion metrics. Beyond digital marketing, Shahrill has held pivotal roles that reflect his multifaceted expertise.

 At Intelligent Johor Sdn Bhd, he leads a team of Big Data Analysts and developers, contributing to policy interventions and budgeting for the state government. His tenure as Regional Director at Panoramic Media Sdn Bhd, starting in January 2013, highlights his capabilities in managing a franchise and developing digital tourism solutions. Shahrill’s journey in digital transformation is underscored by his position as the Assistant General Manager at Digital Johor Sdn Bhd, where he spearheaded major initiatives for the state’s digital transformation. Azhar bin Mohamed is the Head of the Corporate Strategy Division for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).

Azhar has seventeen years of experience working in education management, business development, student recruitment, and marketing. Prior to joining EMGS, he has worked for a number of higher educational institutions, having the experience in a variety of business development and marketing functions necessary for institutional growth.

From 2018 to 2021, he worked as the Director of Sales and Marketing at UNIRAZAK’s Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) and was the instrumental in the establishment of a sponsored unit for professional certification programmes

Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to work in Cambodia and Jakarta as the Business Development and Sales Manager for a Malaysian private institution with an off-shore campus.

He possesses a broad range of networks and connections, ranging from leading a school-to-school bridge programme to collaborating on a global scale with recruitment corporations, educational institutions, governmental organisations, and sponsored organisations.

Mohd Faiz Mohd Noh is the Head of Corporate Assurance Division of Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) incharge of 3 departments namely Internal audit, Integeriti governance and Risk management.

He has 16 years of experience in Internal Audit, Investigation, Integrity, and Governance matters from various industries. He also has extensive exposure as an internal auditor, conducting various audit assignments locally and overseas. He also has experience in the establishment of the department’s framework, policy, and procedures.

Prior to joining EMGS, he previously served as the Senior Manager of the Whistleblowing and Detection Department Group Governance and Risk Management Division, FGV Holdings Bhd. Throughout his outstanding career, he has contributed at Proton Holdings, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, PETRONAS, Al Rajhi Bank, SME Bank, and FGV Holdings Berhad.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), a Certified Integrity Officer (CEIO), and HRDC Train the Trainer.

Sarah Azreen Abdul Samat

Sarah has over 22 years of experience in corporate finance transactions involving equity issuance, mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, corporate restructuring, and corporate valuation, amongst others. She began her career in investment banking with Malaysian International Merchant Bankers Berhad in 2001 after obtaining her professional qualifications from PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Later in her career, she joined other investment banking institutions in Malaysia such as AmInvestment Bank Berhad, Maybank Investment Bank Berhad and RHB Investment Bank Berhad.

Presently, Sarah sits as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Reneuco Berhad and Independent Director of Pharmaniaga Berhad. She is currently the Executive Director of 3p Capital Advisers Sdn. Bhd., a company licensed with the Securities Commission Malaysia to provide advisory services to the capital market players.

Tuan Haji Ismail Bin Mohamed

Tuan Haji Ismail Mohamed sits on the Board of Director for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS). He obtains his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Prior to sitting on the EMGS Board, he was also appointed to be the Board of Director to KEJORA from 2013 to 2018, and several companies such as Permodalan Darul Takzim Sdn Bhd, Perbadanan Usahawan Johor Sdn Bhd, PIJ Holding and Ranhil SAJ Sdn Bhd. Tuan Haji Ismail Mohamed also co-founded Pertama.

He started his career by setting up a company and being the founder of JYBB Enterprise. His career came to prominence when he became the co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Pertama Polyerethane Technology (M) Sdn Bhd and subsequently became the Special Officer to the Minister of Education in 2013.

Ismail Mohamed is acknowledged for his expertise in Agriculture and Agro-based industry, landing him being appointed as the Chairman of the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Committee of the Johor State, the Chairman of Agro KEJORA and the Chairman of the Johor State Agriculture, Agro-based industry, Entrepreneurial Development and Cooperatives Committee.
