1.1 This information is intended to notify Education Institutions in Sarawak regarding the addition of new EMGS panel clinics in Kuching and Miri, Sarawak for the Post-Arrival Medical Screening. 


1.2. Education Institutions located around Kuching and Miri are recommended to send their international students for the Post-Arrival Medical Screening to EMGS panel clinics, as they will benefit from fast turn-around time to obtain the medical screening results within 4 working days. The results will also be directly updated in the EMGS STAR System. 




2.1  Effective 8th February 2023, education institutions and students in Sarawak will have an additional option to select (“EMGS Panel Clinics”) in the EMGS STAR System and EMGS website as an option for their Post-Arrival Medical Screening. 


2.2  International students that have opted to conduct the Post-Arrival Medical Screening at EMGS panel clinics are required to download and register with the EMGS Connect Mobile App prior to their visit to the EMGS Panel Clinics. The students will be required to perform a “Check-in” through the EMGS Connect Mobile App once they arrive at the EMGS panel clinic. Subsequently, the students must also perform facial verification through EMGS Connect Mobile App before being allowed to attend the medical screening. (Representative from the EMGS Panel Clinics will guide the students on the “Check-in” and facial verification process) 


2.3   The Medical Screening fee through EMGS panel clinics will be RM370. 


2.4  Kindly note that the EMGS Connect Mobile App is available for download at App Store (Google Play Store) and (Apple Store






3.1   EMGS will continue recruiting more panel clinics in Sarawak to facilitate both Education Institutions and International Students in Sarawak. The list of EMGS Panel Clinics is available through EMGS Website EMGS Panel Clinics and will be regularly updated once new clinics are recruited.

Tuan Haji Ismail Bin Mohamed

Tuan Haji Ismail Mohamed sits on the Board of Director for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS). He obtains his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Prior to sitting on the EMGS Board, he was also appointed to be the Board of Director to KEJORA from 2013 to 2018, and several companies such as Permodalan Darul Takzim Sdn Bhd, Perbadanan Usahawan Johor Sdn Bhd, PIJ Holding and Ranhil SAJ Sdn Bhd. Tuan Haji Ismail Mohamed also co-founded Pertama.

He started his career by setting up a company and being the founder of JYBB Enterprise. His career came to prominence when he became the co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Pertama Polyerethane Technology (M) Sdn Bhd and subsequently became the Special Officer to the Minister of Education in 2013.

Ismail Mohamed is acknowledged for his expertise in Agriculture and Agro-based industry, landing him being appointed as the Chairman of the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Committee of the Johor State, the Chairman of Agro KEJORA and the Chairman of the Johor State Agriculture, Agro-based industry, Entrepreneurial Development and Cooperatives Committee.
