CESSATION OF AXA INSURANCE PURCHASED FROM EMGS

1. PURPOSE

1.1 EMGS would like to provide updates regarding the bulletin sent by EMGS on 2nd February 2021 regarding the withdrawal of AXA insurance through EMGS.
 

2. IMPLEMENTATION

2.1 Effective from 28th January 2022, AXA will no longer accept any new insurance notifications from EMGS.
 

2.2 EMGS will proceed to migrate applications that selected AXA policies over other insurance providers currently available through EMGS. They are:

• Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad (EFTB)
• Great Eastern Takaful Berhad (GETB)
• The Pacific Insurance Berhad (TPIB)

2.3 The migration of insurance done by EMGS will be based on the new selection of insurance provider by the respective Education Institution for their student pass applications created in STARS.

2.4 Education Institutions that prefer to select an insurance provider that is different from what the Education Institutions are currently selecting (as stated in point 2.3) are required to fill up the attached form in this bulletin and send it to EMGS no later than 14th February 2022.

2.5 Education Institutions are only allowed to select one (1) insurance company to migrate all their applications that selected AXA as the insurance provider previously.

2.6 Kindly note that Education Institutions may seek for a refund on the differential amount based on the premium for the new insurance provider.

2.7 Kindly also note that AXA will continue to provide coverage for insurance policies that were notified to them prior to 28th January 2022.
