Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering

Overview

Mechatronics is a multidisciplinary field of engineering that integrates mechanics, electronics, robotics, control, and automation. This programme is designed to expose students to the principles and practices of mechatronics.The syllabus focuses mainly on the delivery of principles and practices that integrate disciplines in mechanical and electronic engineering, as well as computing. Students will also acquire work skills and develop a broad understanding and knowledge of the engineering industry.Compulsory industrial training is incorporated into the syllabus to make the graduates industry-ready upon completion of their diploma programme. Upon completion of the programme, graduates can work as technicians, assistant engineers, research and development assistants, technical representatives, and production technicians in the fields of manufacturing, process, automation, and control industry, and robotics industry.Programme AimsThe programme aims to prepare graduates who possess a command of mechatronic knowledge and hands-on skills required to undertake supervision of a team and troubleshooting in both operation and maintenance within the industrial context.

Entry Requirements

Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)THREE (3) credits, including Mathematics and any ONE (1) Science / Technical / Vocational subject, and a pass in English.Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM)Minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in any ONE (1) subject and a pass in Mathematics, English and any ONE (1) Science / Technical / Vocational subject at SPM level.Unified Examination Certificate (UEC)Minimum Grade B in THREE (3) subjects including Mathematics and any ONE (1) Science / Technical / Vocational subject and a pass in English.Matriculation / Foundation / Pre-UniversityPass in a related field with minimum CGPA 2.00 out of 4.00.Certificate in Engineering / Engineering Technology (Level 3 KKM)Pass with minimum CGPA 2.00 out of 4.00.Certificate in Vocational and Technical / Skills (Level 3 KKM)Pass with CGPA 2.00 out of 4.00 and 1 year experience in a related field or 1 semester of bridging programme.Other QualificationsOther equivalent qualifications recognised by MOHE.English Proficiency for International StudentsIELTS : 4.0 ORTOEFL PBT : 397 / TOEFL IBT : 30
