Overview

The Bachelor of Communication (BComm) is designed to produce graduates with comprehensive knowledge that informs, moves, creates and shapes the world of communication. Students will be exposed to a broad-based learning experience encompassing nearly all major aspects of communication such as journalism, advertising, broadcasting, corporate communication and public relations.

Entry Requirements

Normal Entry i. STPM or its equivalent, with minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) in 2 subjects AND a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or Grade C (GP 2.00) STPM; or ii. STAM (Jayyid level) AND a credit in Mathematics at SPM level; or iii. Matriculation/Foundation/Asasi with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level; or iv. UEC with minimum Grade B in 5 subjects including Mathematics; or v. Diploma in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Technology or Information System or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level; or vi. Diploma in Science and Technology or Business Studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 is acceptable subject to a comprehensive internal assessment and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level; or vii. Other recognised equivalent qualification. Note: Candidate with CGPA below 2.50 but above 2.00 with credit in Mathematics at SPM level is acceptable subject to a comprehensive internal assessment. The credit requirement in Mathematics at SPM level for candidates (i), (iii), (v) and (vi) can be exempted if the qualifications comprise of Mathematics and the achievement is equivalent to/above the Mathematics credit requirement at SPM level. APEL entry • Malaysian; and • Candidate must be 21 years old and above in the year of application being made; and • Have previous working experience/learning relevant to the field applied; and • Pass APEL Assessment for Bachelor Degree (conducted by OUM). English competency requirement for international students: Minimum IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL 550 or or equivalent.
