EMGS OPERATING PROCEDURES FOR MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDER 3.0

1.     PURPOSE:

 

1.1  The purpose of this bulletin is to inform institutions regarding the decision taken by Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) to minimise personal contact / interaction by limiting the number of visitors to EMGS One-Stop Centre at Menara TA One.

 

1.2   Institutions are requested to use the available online facilities for application / document submission and payment. 

 

1.3  As a consequence of the increase in number of confirmed Covid-19 cases within the Klang Valley, EMGS has outlined a few measures that will take place during this phase of Movement Control Order 3.0 subject to further announcement by the Government of Malaysia.

 

 

2.      IMPLEMENTATION:

 

2.1  Effective from 16th August 2021, the following measures will be enforced and it will be mandatory for institutions to adhere to these steps. These measures are essential for protecting our employees and visitors from exposure to SARS-CoV-2 virus.

 

2.2  Below are the measures that will take effect with regard to the document submission process at EMGS One-Stop Centre:

Payment

There will be no cash transactions.

 

Institutions already have the option to either submit payment via cheque or bank transfer. For bank transfer, kindly provide us with the receipt as proof of payment confirmation

Application Submission

 

There will be no application submission via hardcopy.

 

Institutions are encouraged to upload the documents for IM14 and IM55 via EMGS STAR System.

Additional Documents

 

All additional documents must be submitted via email to EMGS, except for the following:-

 

a)     Personal Bond

b)     Documents that requires original CTC e.g. academic and attendance results, bank statement, document from the embassies

 

For item (a) & (b), institutions can submit these documents via email to EMGS along with the Surat Akur Janji (attached together with this bulletin) and available for download in STARS under the ‘Downloadable Forms’ section.

 

Alternatively, institutions can also submit these documents at the mail drop counter.

Enquiries

 

There will be no enquiries channelled through the EMGS front desk counter.

 

All enquiries must be submitted via email to enquiry@emgs.com.my

Collection of Medical Cards & iKad

 

There will be no physical collection of medical cards & iKad via the EMGS front desk counters and mail drop counter.

 

All medical cards and iKads will be couriered to the respective institutions.

Submission of Passports

EMGS will continue to accept passports at the EMGS front desk counters.

 

Institutions are encouraged to submit all passports at once to minimise multiple trips to the EMGS One-Stop Centre.

Collection of Passports

Institutions are required to collect all passports that are ready for collection when they visit the EMGS One-Stop Centre. This will eliminate multiple trips made by institution representatives to collect passports.

 

 

2.3  It is important that we adhere to the above measures as it is a priority to ensure all workplaces are safe from COVID-19 transmission, as required by the Ministry of Health. We believe these measures and the co-operation from institutions will be vital towards reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

Sarah Azreen Abdul Samat

Sarah has over 22 years of experience in corporate finance transactions involving equity issuance, mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, corporate restructuring, and corporate valuation, amongst others. She began her career in investment banking with Malaysian International Merchant Bankers Berhad in 2001 after obtaining her professional qualifications from PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Later in her career, she joined other investment banking institutions in Malaysia such as AmInvestment Bank Berhad, Maybank Investment Bank Berhad and RHB Investment Bank Berhad.

Presently, Sarah sits as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Reneuco Berhad and Independent Director of Pharmaniaga Berhad. She is currently the Executive Director of 3p Capital Advisers Sdn. Bhd., a company licensed with the Securities Commission Malaysia to provide advisory services to the capital market players.

Tuan Haji Ismail Bin Mohamed

Tuan Haji Ismail Mohamed sits on the Board of Director for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS). He obtains his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Prior to sitting on the EMGS Board, he was also appointed to be the Board of Director to KEJORA from 2013 to 2018, and several companies such as Permodalan Darul Takzim Sdn Bhd, Perbadanan Usahawan Johor Sdn Bhd, PIJ Holding and Ranhil SAJ Sdn Bhd. Tuan Haji Ismail Mohamed also co-founded Pertama.

He started his career by setting up a company and being the founder of JYBB Enterprise. His career came to prominence when he became the co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Pertama Polyerethane Technology (M) Sdn Bhd and subsequently became the Special Officer to the Minister of Education in 2013.

Ismail Mohamed is acknowledged for his expertise in Agriculture and Agro-based industry, landing him being appointed as the Chairman of the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Committee of the Johor State, the Chairman of Agro KEJORA and the Chairman of the Johor State Agriculture, Agro-based industry, Entrepreneurial Development and Cooperatives Committee.
