EMGS OPERATING PROCEDURES FOR MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDER 3.0 FROM 1st JUNE 2021 UNTIL 14th JUNE 2021

 

 

1.     PURPOSE:

 

 

1.1.  The purpose of this notice is to provide clarification to institutions regarding the decision from the Malaysian Government to place Malaysia, which is currently under the third movement control order (MCO 3.0), under a total lockdown for two weeks from 1st to 14th June 2021.

1.2.  Conditions imposed under the Movement Control Order (MCO 3.0) requires government and private sector to cease operating from 1st to 14th June 2021, with the exception of essential economic and service sectors that are listed by the MKN, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

 

 

2.     IMPLEMENTATION:

 

2.1.  In lieu of the above directive, EMGS will not be accepting any applications or passports  at the EMGS One Stop Centre (new, renewal, dependent, special pass etc.) during this period – 1st June to 14th June 2021.

2.2.  The EMGS One Stop Centre will remain open only for collection of passports by the respective institutions.

2.3.  Institutions can continue to submit New and Renewal applications online by creating applications and uploading all the supporting documents via the EMGS STARS System.

2.4.  EMGS will only be able to process applications until the following stages during the lockdown period:

• New Applications – Application pending for submission to the Immigration Department for eVAL approval.

• Self-Endorsement Renewal Applications – Issuance of e-support letter for self-endorsement.

 • EMGS Endorsement Renewal Applications – Request Institutions to submit the passport to EMGS

2.5.  Institutions that opted for EMGS endorsement for a renewal application will be required to submit a Certified True Copy(hardcopy) of the uploaded documents during the passport endorsement stage once the Full Movement Control Order (MCO 3.0) is lifted as this is a requirement by the Immigration Department located at the EMGS One Stop Centre.

2.6.  EMGS call centre will not be operating during MCO 3.0  – 1st to 14th June 2021. However, you can continue to communicate us via email at enquiry@emgs.com.my.

Sarah Azreen Abdul Samat

Sarah has over 22 years of experience in corporate finance transactions involving equity issuance, mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, corporate restructuring, and corporate valuation, amongst others. She began her career in investment banking with Malaysian International Merchant Bankers Berhad in 2001 after obtaining her professional qualifications from PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Later in her career, she joined other investment banking institutions in Malaysia such as AmInvestment Bank Berhad, Maybank Investment Bank Berhad and RHB Investment Bank Berhad.

Presently, Sarah sits as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Reneuco Berhad and Independent Director of Pharmaniaga Berhad. She is currently the Executive Director of 3p Capital Advisers Sdn. Bhd., a company licensed with the Securities Commission Malaysia to provide advisory services to the capital market players.

Tuan Haji Ismail Bin Mohamed

Tuan Haji Ismail Mohamed sits on the Board of Director for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS). He obtains his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Prior to sitting on the EMGS Board, he was also appointed to be the Board of Director to KEJORA from 2013 to 2018, and several companies such as Permodalan Darul Takzim Sdn Bhd, Perbadanan Usahawan Johor Sdn Bhd, PIJ Holding and Ranhil SAJ Sdn Bhd. Tuan Haji Ismail Mohamed also co-founded Pertama.

He started his career by setting up a company and being the founder of JYBB Enterprise. His career came to prominence when he became the co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Pertama Polyerethane Technology (M) Sdn Bhd and subsequently became the Special Officer to the Minister of Education in 2013.

Ismail Mohamed is acknowledged for his expertise in Agriculture and Agro-based industry, landing him being appointed as the Chairman of the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Committee of the Johor State, the Chairman of Agro KEJORA and the Chairman of the Johor State Agriculture, Agro-based industry, Entrepreneurial Development and Cooperatives Committee.
