NEW INTERNATIONAL STUDENT APPLICATIONS TO STUDY IN MALAYSIA EXCEED THE TARGET

Kuala Lumpur, 31st December 2021 – Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) is proud to announce that the new international student applications have now surpassed the target for 2021. As of December 2021, 40,000 new international student applications to study in Malaysian public and private education institutions have been received.

EMGS Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mohd Radzlan bin Jalaludin said, “Despite the challenging outlook for the year triggered by the pandemic, international students continue to show their interest in studying in Malaysia”. He added, “We have also seen the robust increase in applications at the postgraduate levels. This is indeed a great achievement and another milestone added to EMGS and Malaysia as a whole.”

With the recent launch of the ‘Discover Education Malaysia’ portal as an official website with a credible source, local and international students and parents may easily access information about studying in Malaysia. The portal provides clear and complete information on Malaysian higher education Institutions in terms of background, programmes, fee structure, career pathways and also offers student testimonials and informative articles. Through this initiative, this portal aims to bridge the gap between higher education institutions and potential local or international students and parents who are seeking information in studying in Malaysia and also highlight Malaysia as a global education hub.

EMGS will continue to support the government’s aspiration to achieve 250,000 international students by 2025 as well as promote Malaysia as the international education hub of choice. EMGS welcomes all international students with open arms to pursue their studies in Malaysia.

PERMOHONAN BAHARU PELAJAR ANTARABANGSA UNTUK BELAJAR DI MALAYSIA MENCAPAI SASARAN

 

Kuala Lumpur, 31 Disember 2021 – Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) ingin mengumumkan bahawa permohonan baharu pelajar antarabangsa kini telah melepasi sasaran yang telah diunjurkan untuk tahun 2021. Sehingga Disember 2021, terdapat 40,000 permohonan baharu yang telah diterima daripada pelajar antarabangsa untuk menyambung pengajian di Universiti Awam (UA) dan Institut Pengajian Tinggi Swasta (IPTS) di Malaysia.

 

Menurut Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif EMGS, Encik Mohd Radzlan bin Jalaludin, beliau berkata, “Walaupun kita telah menjangkakan prospek yang mencabar untuk tahun ini susulan pandemik, pelajar antarabangsa terus menunjukkan minat untuk menyambung pengajian mereka di Malaysia”. Beliau menambah, “Kami juga telah melihat peningkatan drastik untuk permohonan pada peringkat pascasiswazah. Ini sememangnya satu pencapaian yang baik buat EMGS dan Malaysia secara keseluruhannya.”

 

Kini, pelajar tempatan dan luar negara serta ibu bapa mereka boleh mendapatkan maklumat terkini dengan mudah untuk menyambung pengajian di Malaysia melalui portal ‘Discover Education Malaysia’ yang telah dilancarkan oleh pihak EMGS baru-baru ini. Portal ini padat dengan informasi lengkap seperti latar belakang Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (IPT) di Malaysia, program, yuran pengajian, hala tuju kerjaya, testimoni pelajar, dan artikel informasi terkini. Inisiatif ini juga dilihat berperanan untuk meningkatkan bilangan pelajar antarabangsa dan seterusnya menjadikan Malaysia sebagai hab pendidikan tinggi di peringkat antarabangsa.

 

EMGS akan terus menyokong hasrat kerajaan untuk mencapai 250,000 pelajar antarabangsa menjelang tahun 2025 serta mempromosikan Malaysia sebagai sebuah hab pendidikan global.

Sarah Azreen Abdul Samat

Sarah has over 22 years of experience in corporate finance transactions involving equity issuance, mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, corporate restructuring, and corporate valuation, amongst others. She began her career in investment banking with Malaysian International Merchant Bankers Berhad in 2001 after obtaining her professional qualifications from PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Later in her career, she joined other investment banking institutions in Malaysia such as AmInvestment Bank Berhad, Maybank Investment Bank Berhad and RHB Investment Bank Berhad.

Presently, Sarah sits as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Reneuco Berhad and Independent Director of Pharmaniaga Berhad. She is currently the Executive Director of 3p Capital Advisers Sdn. Bhd., a company licensed with the Securities Commission Malaysia to provide advisory services to the capital market players.

Tuan Haji Ismail Bin Mohamed

Tuan Haji Ismail Mohamed sits on the Board of Director for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS). He obtains his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Prior to sitting on the EMGS Board, he was also appointed to be the Board of Director to KEJORA from 2013 to 2018, and several companies such as Permodalan Darul Takzim Sdn Bhd, Perbadanan Usahawan Johor Sdn Bhd, PIJ Holding and Ranhil SAJ Sdn Bhd. Tuan Haji Ismail Mohamed also co-founded Pertama.

He started his career by setting up a company and being the founder of JYBB Enterprise. His career came to prominence when he became the co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Pertama Polyerethane Technology (M) Sdn Bhd and subsequently became the Special Officer to the Minister of Education in 2013.

Ismail Mohamed is acknowledged for his expertise in Agriculture and Agro-based industry, landing him being appointed as the Chairman of the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Committee of the Johor State, the Chairman of Agro KEJORA and the Chairman of the Johor State Agriculture, Agro-based industry, Entrepreneurial Development and Cooperatives Committee.
