Diploma in Ophthalmic Dispensing

Overview

This diploma programme prepares students to become proficient dispensing opticians by equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to match optical prescriptions with appropriate spectacle frames and lenses, considering both the patient's visual and cosmetic needs. Students will undergo a combination of classroom learning, skills lab work, and industrial attachment for practical experience.

Entry Requirements

Pass SPM with a Credit in any three (3) subjects and a Pass in two (2) Science subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology);Other acceptable qualifications include a Certificate (MQF Level 3) in Optical Technology or Science or equivalent, a Fellowship Diploma of the British Dispensing Optician (FBDO), or other qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.
