Master of Anaesthesiology

Overview

The Master of Anaesthesiology is a full-time, 4 years clinical training programme aimed to impart knowledge and skills to candidates, enabling them to function as safe and competent Anaesthesiologist. Candidates will be trained to have the basic specialist skill in the administration of anaesthesia, competent in handling acute critical situation, resuscitation and carry out all the duties expected of a clinical consultant. The training is conducted at accredited Department of Anaesthesiology, KPJ Specialist hospitals. The programme provides competency-based training featuring one-to-one, hands-on apprenticeship with supervision by dedicated and experienced KPJ anaesthesiology consultants. Although the majority of training will be conducted at KPJ Specialist Hospitals, special arrangement will be made to enable candidates to have the opportunities to attend academic programmes and clinical training at teaching hospitals of public universities and Ministry of Health hospitals, especially for subspecialty training not available in KPJ Specialist Hospital.
