ADDITIONAL e-PAYMENT METHOD AVAILABLE FOR EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS 

1. PURPOSE

1.1 The purpose of this bulletin is to inform all Education Institutions regarding the inclusion of an additional e-Payment method “JomPAY” as a payment option for all applications created in the STARS system. 

1.2 JomPAY is a National Bill Payment Scheme that allows customers to pay bills conveniently and securely via Internet & Mobile Banking with no hidden cost. 

 

2. IMPLEMENTATION

2.1 All Education Institutions will be able to select JomPAY as a payment method in the STARS system from 1st August 2022 onwards. 

2.2 Payments made by Education Institutions using JomPay will be easily referenced back to the respective Education Institutions since the Education Institution is required to enter a unique reference number that identifies the institute (Refer to the attached User Guide). 
 

2.3 Education Institutions must ensure that they key in the correct information when making the payment via JomPAY. Once the payment has been successfully completed, Education Institutions are required to submit the transaction receipt for EMGS to proceed to invoice the application in the STARS system. 
 

2.4 Education Institutions that select JomPAY as a payment method will be able to view a dashboard of all their payments made to EMGS (Refer to the attached User Guide).
