Assalamualaikum, and hello to everyone reading this! In April 2026, I had the privilege of joining a two-week FAM Trip to Malaysia, organised by EMGS. Looking back now, I can honestly say it was one of the most meaningful journeys I have ever taken.

Our trip began in Kuala Lumpur, a city that already held a special place in my heart. I had actually lived there for six months before this trip, and returning only confirmed what I had felt back then: KL is, in so many ways, the best city I have ever experienced. Its mix of cultures, its energy, and its warmth felt like coming home rather than visiting somewhere new.

From there, we travelled to Terengganu, and it turned out to be an entirely different, equally unforgettable experience. If Kuala Lumpur felt familiar, Terengganu felt like discovering a whole new side of Malaysia. What struck me most, however, was not a place but the people. I have rarely met people as genuinely warm-hearted as the Malaysians we encountered along the way. Their kindness was not just polite hospitality; it was authentic, and it carried a deep, faith-rooted warmth that made us feel instantly welcome. You could see the effort and care behind every single interaction.

One of the true highlights for me, as a teacher, was our visit to a local school. Meeting the children and being able to interact with them directly was a moment where I truly felt in my element. It reminded me why I love this profession, and it left me seriously considering my future: I can absolutely picture myself returning to Kuala Lumpur one day, whether to work there as a teacher or to pursue further academic studies, such as a PhD.

Beyond the places and the people we met, what made this trip complete was our own group. The harmony within our team made every day easier and every experience more enjoyable, and I am grateful we got to share this journey together.

Altogether, this trip was, through and through, a wonderful experience, one that will continue to shape me long after it has ended. I am deeply thankful for everything Malaysia has given us, and for EMGS for making this journey possible. Thank you, EMGS!
