When I first heard that I had been selected for the FAM Trip to Malaysia, I was very excited about the opportunity to experience a country and culture that I had never visited before. What I did not expect was how many beautiful memories, friendships and new perspectives I would take home with me after these two weeks.



From the very beginning, the team of EMGS made us feel very welcome and took great care of our group throughout the trip. One of the things I appreciated most was how well-organised the entire programme was. Every day was filled with different activities, allowing us to experience many different sides of Malaysia. We were able to explore the cities, learn about Malaysian traditions and culture, visit universities, try traditional food and spend time in nature.



During the first part of the trip, we visited Management & Science University (MSU), a private university. Later, we travelled to Terengganu and stayed at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), a public university. Getting to know both universities was particularly interesting to me because it allowed us to experience two different educational environments and learn more about student life in Malaysia.



The cultural activities were another highlight. We played traditional Malaysian games, learned how to prepare local dishes and experienced traditional music and dance. I especially enjoyed the activities in nature. Hiking through the beautiful Malaysian landscape and snorkeling at Kapas Island were experiences I will never forget.



As a student studying to become a teacher, one of the most meaningful moments for me was visiting a Malaysian primary school. We were welcomed so warmly by the children, and their excitement and friendliness immediately made us feel comfortable. Being able to see a school environment in another country and interact with the students was especially interesting from a future teacher’s perspective. Above all, however, I will remember the people I met. Everyone welcomed us with so much kindness and hospitality. I was able to make new connections, learn from people with different backgrounds and experience Malaysian culture in a very personal way.



Looking back, the FAM Trip was much more than just a journey. It was an opportunity to learn, explore, connect and grow. I am incredibly grateful to EMGS, the universities and everyone involved for making this experience possible. The memories and friendships I made in Malaysia will stay with me for a very long time.
