Bachelor of Dental Technology (BDT)

Overview

This four year semester – based bachelor’s degree in Dental Technology (BDT) is the first of its kind introduced in Malaysia at our premier institute. It is a specialised course designed to coach and fosters the students to work independently and effectively as skilled dental technologists.

Entry Requirements

All applicants who enter a matriculation, foundation or premedical programme except those with a degree qualification in arts of humanities, shall have passed and attatined a minimum of the following at School Certificate level or its equivalent: Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM): 5Bs each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (or Additional Mathematics) and another subject. General Certificate of Education – Ordinary (‘O”) Levels: 5Bs each Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (or Additional Mathematics) and another subject. Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) Junior Level: B4 each in 4 subjects i.e Biology, Chemistry, Physics, (or Mathematics or Additional Mathematics) and another subject. All applicants except those with a degree qualification in arts or humanities shall have pased and attained a minimum of the following at: Higher school certificate level or its equivalent. A-Levels / STPM: Grades BBB, ABC or AAC in 3 subjects i.e. Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics. (Grade C can only be in either Physics or Mathematics) AIMST Foundation in Science/ Matriculation/Foundation in Science/Pre-medical course** (course ≥ 1 year in the same institution): CGPA 3.0 (out of 4) in 3 subjects i.e. Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics UEC: B4 each in 5 subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3 / New Zealand Bursary: Average of 80% in 3 subjects i.e. Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics UNSW Foundation /MUFY/Western Australia Curriculum Council/ HSC Sydney Australia/ Trinity College Foundation Studies/ Australian Universi-ties Foundation Programmes/ South Australian Matriculation/ Victorian Certificate of Education, Australia Year 12/ Ausmat: Aggregate or average of 80% or equivalent of B in 3 subjects i.e. Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics or 80% ATAR provided the sub-jects include Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics CPU/ CIMP/ Canadian Grade 12/13/ Ontario Secondary School Diploma Grade 12: Average of 80% in 3 subjects i.e. Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics Indian Pre-University: Average of 70% in 3 subjects i.e. Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics International Baccalaureate (IB): 30 points with a minimum of 2 science subjects or Mathematics at Higher Level (HL) and 1 science subject at Standard Level and attained a minimum score of 4 each in Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics Diploma in Health Sciences (course ≥ 2 1/2 years or 5 semesters in the same institution): CGPA ≥ 3.5 (out of 4) Diploma in Dental Technology: CGPA 2.75 (Entry into year two (2) is subjected to credit transfer exemption policy) *Must obtain MUET Band 4 before graduation
