PETALING JAYA, SELANGOR - In conjunction with Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025, Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) Malaysia, proudly announces the ASEAN Universities Exhibition and Forum 2025 (AEF2025), the first and largest ASEAN university exhibition. The prestigious event is set to take place on February 24-25, 2025, at the Grand Lagoon Ballroom, Sunway Resort Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, featuring more than 90 exhibitors and Mobility students from across ASEAN, including institutions from Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Timor-Leste.

AEF2025 is a premier two-day international event with an expected 5000 visitors. The forum will serve as a key platform for universities, policymakers, industry experts, and students to engage in discussions and partnerships that will contribute to regional integration. With the theme of Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025 being ‘Inclusivity and Sustainability’, AEF2025 reflects this vision by fostering equitable and accessible higher education opportunities, promoting collaborative research, and advancing sustainable development in the education sector.


Key Highlights of AEF2025

1. ASEAN Universities Exhibition and Forum
This flagship exhibition and forum will showcase the achievements and innovations of more than 90 ASEAN exhibitors, serving as a hub for networking, idea sharing, and collaboration. Through engaging discussions and exhibitions, participants will explore key challenges and opportunities in the education sector, fostering regional innovation and stronger partnerships. AEF2025 will also mark a significant milestone with the signing of MOUs among the universities and industry.

2. ASEAN Student Mobility Programme
In conjunction with AEF2025, ASEAN Student Mobility Programme will be organised in partnership with Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). This Mobility programme will be on going for 13 days filled with exciting programmes with 500 Mobility students.

ASEAN Student Mobility Programme Highlights (11th – 25th February 2025):
Young Speaker Contest: Encouraging students to voice ideas on pressing global issues.
Innovation Project Challenge: Showcasing cutting-edge solutions to regional challenges aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Familiarisation Visits: Offering on-site and virtual tours of the Malaysian university campuses.

This programme fosters collaboration among student leaders, policymakers, and industry experts, creating an environment where innovation and cross-border partnerships thrive.


3. Soft Launch of ASEAN GEMS Platform
The ASEAN Global Exchange for Mobility & Scholarship (GEMS) platform is a one-stop scholarship and Mobility platform, offering opportunities across the ASEAN region.

• One-Stop Repository for Scholarships: Empowering students to access opportunities beyond their home countries.
• Promoting Regional Integration: Supporting youth mobility and cross-border academic exchanges.
• Fostering a Shared ASEAN Identity: Deepening cultural understanding and enhancing regional educational equity.

This digital platform aligns with ASEAN’s commitment to youth empowerment, educational equity, and regional integration.
