Library The Sultan Abdul Samad Library’s collections contain more than 1 million print volumes and include over 50,000 journal titles, of which more than half are e-journals. UPM students can search the world's academic literature using an excellent collection of 50 electronic research databases, made available via the library's web site.

In keeping with its central role in the academic life of the University, the Sultan Abdul Samad Library - UPM's main library - lies at the heart of the campus, making it easily assessable to the students and researchers.

This library offers spacious reading areas, high-end computer workstations, audio-visual viewing areas, both intranet and wireless Internet access, and ample photocopying and printing facilities.

A team of subject-specialist librarians is on hand to assist, train, and advise students on how to use the collections to their best advantage.

One of the library’s most popular and well-used sections is the Study Rooms, a dedicated undergraduate facility, where students can access and utilize the personal study cubicles, group discussion rooms, and receive assistance in researching and writing their reports, essays, and assignments - a convenient one-stop-centre for the undergraduate student who wants to excel.

UPM’s branch libraries are situated on the various faculties they serve. Most well known of these is the Veterinary Medicine Library, which holds extensive collections that are consulted by industry experts from all over the Asia Pacific. Other major branch libraries include the Medicine and Health Sciences Library, Engineering and Architecture Library, and the Bintulu Campus Library.

Laboratory The Information Technology (IT) and Communication Development Centre (iDEC) is appointed by the UPM Registrar’s Office to carry out Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training . The centre has three training rooms, namely, Mega, Exa and Zetta which are for UPM staff and used for the teaching and learning of ICT. Both Mega and Exa rooms at iDEC Alpha are provided with 32 units of PCs each. AT iDEC Gamma, the Mega room is fitted with 16 units of PCs. The rooms are equipped with LCD projectors, printers, screens, PA system and Internet access. The various types of software installed are Microsoft Office, statistical packages (SPSS and SAS) and various multimedia software.

The use of the training rooms for staff is free. Booking is through the ICT Supporting Service Application Form, downloadable from the Quality Management System site.

Accommodation Student housing and college residence life at UPM strives to ensure that a living and learning environment is the foundation of its residence culture.

Every effort is made to ensure that students' residence life experience will foster their holistic development as well as being fully supportive of their academic program.

Residence life is a special experience. Staying in a UPM residence is an extension of students' university education, where they can benefit from all the facilities and services such as student learning centers, social and sporting activities, life-skills and peer-tutoring programs.

A residence is a community in which one meets a range of diverse students and forges life-long friendships.
Clinic Medical Check-up

The University Health Centre provides medical check-ups for admission to Institutes of Higher Education (private, public), newly- appointed private and public personnel, UPM staff above 40 years of age, and medical check-up for Pre-placement officers.

Dental treatment services are also available for dependents of international students

UPM Health Center also provides dental care to employees, retirees UPM,dependents of employees, dependents of international students, retirees UPMdependents, students and the general public and for school children.

Among the services provided in addition to treatments such as fillings, scaling, tooth extraction and root canal treatment is a dental education.

Emergency Treatment

The University Health Centre provides emergency services for the campus community.

Cases that are categorised as emergencies are road accidents, injuries such as deep cuts, sprains and fractures, shortness of breath, chest pain, food poisoning, fainting, medication overdose, high fever, abdominal pain, seizures, allergic reactions, poisonous animal bites, and burns or scalds.

Ambulance service operates round the clock.
Sports UPM is committed in producing quality students and compete with the increase of soft skills and sports. Thus, the University has provided various facilities and sports facilities to the citizens to provide convenience as well as to encourage citizens to exercise. In addition, UPM also provides modern recreational facilities to citizens throughout the UPM to maintain the mind body fitness.

The University has an extensive sporting facility. These facilities include a fully equipped gym, sports hall, outdoor swimming pool, under soil drainage football pitch, Astroturf pitch for hockey, tennis courts, and an excellent floodlit athletics and football stadium. UPM boasts some of the best grass pitches in the country including a 18-hole professional golf course.

In addition, the University is situated nearby the National Sports Council at Bukit Jalil – a centre with an extensive array of world-class sporting facilities.
