Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) is Malaysia's 17th public institution of higher learning. It was approved by the Malaysian Cabinet on May 2001. Currently, UniMAP has approximately 6,000 students and a workforce of more than 1,700 academic and non-academic staff members.

Library Our library is a gateway to a comprehensive collection of books, journals, periodicals, student projects and other related publications to support learning and research for all students and staff. Established in 2002, the library provides excellent services to support the teaching, learning and research activities of the University. With it's customer focused orientation and the abundance use of Information Technology, the library inspires to be the leading engineering library in this region.

SMART ACCESS highlights four most important discovery tools at the library. This includes UniMAP Library Digital Repository, Finding Books, Finding e-journals, and e-resources. SMART ACCESS module is recommended to all library customers including students, staff, researchers and administrative staff. Users can perform keyword searching directly from SMART ACCESS module. However, users are encouraged to explore more electronic books, electronic journals, reports and news as listed on our eResources page.
Laboratory Learning and understanding of the various Engineering principles at different levels is supported by hands-on laboratory work. This is undertaken in fully-equipped laboratories for Analogue and Digital electronics, Communications Engineering, Electrical Power, Controls and Automation, as well as Materials and Testing laboratories and the Mechanical workshop.
Accommodation Campus life lets the student meet new people, indulge in untried environments, and experience different cultures. UniMAP provides a range of amenities to make students feel right at home.

Accommodation consists of three or four-bedroomed houses which are fully furnished, providing high standard of comfort. There are 7 residential colleges - Tun Abdul Rahman Residential College, Tun Abdul Razak Residential College, Tun Hussein Onn Residential College, Tun Dr. Mahathir Residential College, Tun Dr. Ismail Residential College, Tun Ghafar Baba and Tan Sri Aishah Ghani Residential College. Within the colleges, student counseling and advisory services are available through out the semester. In addition, University buses frequent the residential colleges to provide free-of-charge transportation for students and staff alike during the semester.

Sports Residential Colleges organise a choice of activities throughout each academic semester. College Open Day is one example, where students organise-among others- cultural shows, talent-time, dinners, and other stimulating activities that can hone their management and organisational skills. Students also get the chance to interact with members of the local community. In addition, many interesting events and activities are organised by residential college committees, such as Chinese New Year, Aidilfitri and Deepavali get-together, ‘Battle of the Band’ competition, Nasyid Festival, Poco-Poco, Futsal, Netball, Football, Indoor Games, End of Year Dinner Celebration, and many many more.
For sports, there is the Sports Centre, which is a unit within the Student Affairs Division, that manages sports facilities and activities. The centre has been set up to foster team building and physical fitness amongst students and staff. Facilities available in-campus include volleyball, takraw, netball and multi-purpose courts. For fitness fans, there is a well-equipped gymnasium and an aerobic square for aerobic activities.

Students participate in sports as well as other activities either informally at their own pleasure, or formally through various co-curiculum courses offered during the semester. Students must fulfill co-curriculum requirements in order to be eligible for graduation. They can choose to join canoeing, hockey, taekwando, silat, and badminton, among others.
Scholarships Student Affairs Department managing over matters related with scholarships / loan, student union, students discipline, finance, sport & recreation, culture, student placement and training and university student development. This department has several units operate to operate various programmes continuously to provide best service to students.

Persatuan Alumni Pemimpin Mahasiswa Aspirasi Malaysia (ASPIRASI) adalah sebuah persatuan bukan kerajaan (NGO) yang dipelopori oleh barisan alumni pemimpin mahasiswa Institusi Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia yang berperanan menghimpunkan pimpinan dan bekas pimpinan mahasiswa dari pelusuk tanah air. Agenda pendidikan dan pembangunan kepimpinan mahasiswa menjadi teras ASPIRASI.Persatuan Alumni Pemimpin Mahasiswa Aspirasi Malaysia (ASPIRASI) yang diketuai oleh Presidennya Encik Mohd Shahar Abdullah, NGO-NGO serta pemimpin mahasiswa telah menganjurkan Program Aman Kampus bersama masyarakat di seluruh negara dari 2-20 Februari 2012.
