EMGS WELCOME NEW INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS OF NUSA TENGGARA BARAT (NTB), INDONESIA SCHOLARSHIPS

KUALA LUMPUR, 30th March 2021 – Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) has welcomed new international postgraduate students from Indonesia during the Welcoming and Briefing Session for Recipients of Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) Scholarship at Crystal Crown Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 30th March 2021.

This NTB scholarship initiative is an effort to strengthen bilateral relations in terms of education between Malaysia and Indonesia. A total of 67 international postgraduate students from Indonesia have been chosen as recipients of the NTB Scholarship. This is the largest number of international students sponsored by NTB scholarship received since the pandemic hit. These international students have successfully finished the quarantine period for 7 days through the strict SOP process in their quarantine station at Crystal Crown Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The quarantine check-out procedures have been done by the Angkatan Pertahanan Awam (APM), Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM), Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) and Jabatan Kebajikan Malaysia (JKM). These students have previously participated in the virtual NTB Visa briefing session, organised by EMGS in February 2021.  After the briefing session ended, all students have departed to their respective universities with their representative.

According to Chief Executive Officer for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), Mr. Mohd Radzlan bin Jalaludin, EMGS will support to ensure the process for international students to study in Malaysia runs smoothly. EMGS is welcoming all international students to Malaysia with open arms. EMGS will continue to be committed to fulfill the Government’s aspiration in making Malaysia as the preferred global education hub.

The welcoming and briefing session was attended by Professor Ir. Dr. Zuhaina Haji Zakaria (Dean, Universiti Teknologi MARA), Dr. Wan Mokhdzani Bin Wan Nor Haimi (Deputy Director, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP), Dr. Ahmad Taufik Hidayah Bin Abdullah (Deputy Director, International Center, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA)) and Mr. Muhammad Airul Idham Bin Baharin (Skim Perkhidmatan Khas dan Universiti, Pusat Antarabangsa dan Mobiliti, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI)).

EMGS MENYAMBUT PELAJAR ANTARABANGSA TAJAAN BIASISWA NUSA TENGGARA BARAT (NTB), INDONESIA

KUALA LUMPUR, 30 Mac 2021 – Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) telah mengalu-alukan kehadiran pelajar antarabangsa pascasiswazah baru dari Indonesia semasa Sesi Sambutan dan Taklimat untuk Penerima Biasiswa Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) di Crystal Crown Hotel, Kuala Lumpur pada 30 Mac 2021.

Inisiatif biasiswa NTB ini adalah salah satu usaha untuk mengeratkan hubungan kedua-dua belah pihak antara Malaysia dan Indonesia terutama dalam sektor pendidikan. Seramai 67 pelajar pascasiswazah dari Indonesia telah dipilih sebagai penerima Biasiswa NTB. Ini adalah jumlah pelajar antarabangsa tajaan biasiswa NTB terbesar diterima semenjak pandemik melanda negara.  Pelajar antarabangsa ini telah menjalani tempoh kuarantin selama 7 hari melalui proses SOP yang ketat di stesen kuarantin mereka di Crystal Crown Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Prosedur daftar keluar kuarantin telah dilakukan oleh pihak Angkatan Pertahanan Awam (APM), Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM), Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) dan Jabatan Kebajikan Malaysia (JKM). Pelajar-pelajar ini juga telah mengikuti sesi taklimat Visa NTB secara maya yang telah dianjurkan oleh pihak EMGS pada bulan Februari 2021 yang lepas. Setelah sesi taklimat berakhir, pelajar-pelajar telah berangkat ke universiti masing-masing bersama wakil dari pihak universiti.

Menurut Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif EMGS, Encik Mohd Radzlan bin Jalaludin, EMGS akan terus menyokong dalam usaha memastikan proses untuk pelajar antarabangsa untuk melanjutkan di Malaysia berjalan lancar. EMGS juga amat mengalu-alukan ketibaan semua pelajar antarabangsa ke Malaysia dengan tangan terbuka. EMGS akan terus komited untuk memenuhi hasrat Kerajaan menjadikan Malaysia sebagai hab pendidikan global.

Sesi sambutan dan taklimat telah dihadiri oleh Profesor Ir. Dr. Zuhaina Haji Zakaria (Dekan, Universiti Teknologi MARA), Dr. Wan Mokhdzani Bin Wan Nor Haimi (Timbalan Pengarah, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP)), Dr. Ahmad Taufik Hidayah Bin Abdullah (Timbalan Pengarah, Pusat Antarabangsa, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA)) dan En. Sarah Azreen Abdul Samat

Sarah has over 22 years of experience in corporate finance transactions involving equity issuance, mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, corporate restructuring, and corporate valuation, amongst others. She began her career in investment banking with Malaysian International Merchant Bankers Berhad in 2001 after obtaining her professional qualifications from PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Later in her career, she joined other investment banking institutions in Malaysia such as AmInvestment Bank Berhad, Maybank Investment Bank Berhad and RHB Investment Bank Berhad.

Presently, Sarah sits as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Reneuco Berhad and Independent Director of Pharmaniaga Berhad. She is currently the Executive Director of 3p Capital Advisers Sdn. Bhd., a company licensed with the Securities Commission Malaysia to provide advisory services to the capital market players.

Tuan Haji Ismail Bin Mohamed

Tuan Haji Ismail Mohamed sits on the Board of Director for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS). He obtains his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Prior to sitting on the EMGS Board, he was also appointed to be the Board of Director to KEJORA from 2013 to 2018, and several companies such as Permodalan Darul Takzim Sdn Bhd, Perbadanan Usahawan Johor Sdn Bhd, PIJ Holding and Ranhil SAJ Sdn Bhd. Tuan Haji Ismail Mohamed also co-founded Pertama.

He started his career by setting up a company and being the founder of JYBB Enterprise. His career came to prominence when he became the co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Pertama Polyerethane Technology (M) Sdn Bhd and subsequently became the Special Officer to the Minister of Education in 2013.

Ismail Mohamed is acknowledged for his expertise in Agriculture and Agro-based industry, landing him being appointed as the Chairman of the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Committee of the Johor State, the Chairman of Agro KEJORA and the Chairman of the Johor State Agriculture, Agro-based industry, Entrepreneurial Development and Cooperatives Committee.
