KERJASAMA TOURISM MALAYSIA – EMGS TINGKATKAN PROMOSI PELANCONGAN PENDIDIKAN

PUTRAJAYA, 14 OKTOBER 2022Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) dan Tourism Malaysia hari ini memeterai memorandum kerjasama (MoC) untuk mengukuhkan lagi tarikan Malaysia sebagai destinasi pengajian pilihan pelancongan dalam kalangan pelajar antarabangsa serta pelancong dari seluruh dunia. 

 

Memorandum kerjasama itu ditandatangani oleh Dato’ Haji Zainuddin Abdul Wahab, Ketua Pengarah Tourism Malaysia dan Encik Mohd Radzlan Jalaludin, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif EMGS. Majlis menandatangani memorandum tersebut turut disaksikan oleh YBhg. Dato’ Seri Abdul Razak Jaafar, Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi.

 

 

Kerjasama ini bertujuan memanfaatkan perkongsian kepakaran antara kedua-dua pihak dalam aspek komunikasi, penjenamaan, pengiklanan, acara, kempen, bahan pemasaraan dan promosi serta media dan perhubungan awam. Kedua-dua pihak juga akan bekerjasama mempromosikan penjenamaan “Study in Malaysia” seiring dengan tagline “Malaysia Truly Asia” yang digunakan di peringkat global.

 

 

Jalinan kerjasama ini juga akan membentuk sinergi dalam mempromosikan Malaysia sebagai destinasi pelancongan dan hab pendidikan pilihan bertaraf dunia terutamanya melalui program mobiliti dan kursus jangka pendek melibatkan pelajar antarabangsa.

 

 

Dato’ Haji Zainuddin Abdul Wahab berkata, kerjasama antara Tourism Malaysia dan EMGS berupaya membantu merancakkan industri pelancongan negara bagi mencapai sasaran ketibaan pelancong sebanyak 9.2 juta pelancong dengan nilai pendapatan pelancongan sebanyak RM 26.8 bilion menjelang hujung tahun ini.

 

 

“Usaha sama ini juga dapat mempromosikan Malaysia sebagai destinasi pilihan menerusi segmen minat khas edutourism dan juga percutian oleh pelajar antarabangsa bersama keluarga mereka yang sekali gus dapat menjana pendapatan ekonomi kepada negara,” katanya.

 

 

Sementara itu, fokus utama EMGS, pada tahun ini adalah untuk mencapai sasaran 50,000 permohonan pelajar antarabangsa selaras dengan hasrat kerajaan bagi meningkatkan kemasukan seramai 250,000 pelajar antarabangsa menjelang tahun 2025.

 

 

Encik Mohd Radzlan Bin Jalaludin berkata, “EMGS berbesar hati dapat menjalinkan kerjasama strategik ini bersama Tourism Malaysia. Kami percaya sektor pelancongan dan pendidikan saling bersangkutan antara satu sama lain.” “Setakat September 2022, kita telah menerima lebih 38,000 permohonan daripada pelajar antarabangsa untuk melanjutkan pengajian di Malaysia. Kita dapati terdapat trend peningkatan melibatkan permohonan program mobiliti dalam kalangan pelajar antarabangsa, jadi itu menjadi salah satu fokus keutamaan EMGS.

EDUCATION MALAYSIA GLOBAL SERVICES SIGNS MOC WITH TOURISM MALAYSIA TO BOOST MALAYSIA’S HIGHER EDUCATION AND TOURISM

PUTRAJAYA, 14th OCTOBER 2022Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) and Tourism Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) today with the primary objectives to further strengthen Malaysia’s appeal as the preferred study and travel destination among international students and travellers worldwide. The MoC Signing Ceremony was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of EMGS, Mr. Mohd Radzlan Bin Jalaludin, and the Director-General of Tourism Malaysia, Dato’ Hj. Zainuddin Bin Abdul Wahab at DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya Lakeside Hotel.

 

 

The collaboration between EMGS and Tourism Malaysia will leverage each other’s strengths in Communications, Branding and Advertising, Events, Campaign, Promotional and Marketing Materials, and Media and Public Relations. Through this collaboration, EMGS is looking to strengthen the promotion of its ‘Study in Malaysia’ brand together with the strong presence of ‘Malaysia Truly Asia’ brand.

 

 

The cooperation will form a synergy in promoting Malaysia as the travel destination and education hub of choice especially through Mobility and short courses programme where international students are able to experience the best of both worlds – Malaysia’s beauty and world-class education.

 

 

Mr. Mohd Radzlan Bin Jalaludin, the Chief Executive Officer of EMGS said: “We are delighted to be working closely with a big name in the industry, Tourism Malaysia. I believe Education and Tourism are inseparable. The overall number of applications from international students to pursue their higher learning in Malaysia has exceeded 38,000 as of September 2022. Moving forward, one of our main focuses is on promoting the Mobility programme as we can see that in recent years, there is a surge in the number of applications on mobility programmes among international students.

 

 

The top 5 countries with the highest number of applications for Mobility programmes as of September 2022, are Indonesia, France, Japan, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

 

 

“Additionally, since EMGS expanded our services to Sarawak since 1st August 2022 to facilitate the process for International Student Pass Application for all Public and Private higher education institutions in Sarawak, we will amplify our promotional effort to promote Malaysia as a study destination.” He added, “Together with Tourism Malaysia, we hope that we will be able to welcome more people to Malaysia.”

 

 

Dato’ Zainuddin Abdul Wahab, Director-General of Tourism Malaysia said the MOC between Tourism Malaysia and EMGS would help to boost the local tourism industry and achieve Malaysia’s target of welcoming 9.2 million international tourist arrivals with RM 26.8 billion in tourism receipts for this year. This joint venture can also promote Malaysia as a destination of choice through the special interest segment of edutourism and trips by international students and their families, contributing to generating economic income for the country.

 

 

EMGS has been carrying out various promotional activities globally with higher education institutions and student recruitment agents to facilitate the recruitment of international students. With the target to reach 50,000 applications from international students for the year 2022, EMGS will continue to support the government’s aspiration to achieve 250,000 international students by 2025.

Sarah Azreen Abdul Samat

Sarah has over 22 years of experience in corporate finance transactions involving equity issuance, mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, corporate restructuring, and corporate valuation, amongst others. She began her career in investment banking with Malaysian International Merchant Bankers Berhad in 2001 after obtaining her professional qualifications from PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Later in her career, she joined other investment banking institutions in Malaysia such as AmInvestment Bank Berhad, Maybank Investment Bank Berhad and RHB Investment Bank Berhad.

Presently, Sarah sits as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Reneuco Berhad and Independent Director of Pharmaniaga Berhad. She is currently the Executive Director of 3p Capital Advisers Sdn. Bhd., a company licensed with the Securities Commission Malaysia to provide advisory services to the capital market players.

Tuan Haji Ismail Bin Mohamed

Tuan Haji Ismail Mohamed sits on the Board of Director for Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS). He obtains his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Prior to sitting on the EMGS Board, he was also appointed to be the Board of Director to KEJORA from 2013 to 2018, and several companies such as Permodalan Darul Takzim Sdn Bhd, Perbadanan Usahawan Johor Sdn Bhd, PIJ Holding and Ranhil SAJ Sdn Bhd. Tuan Haji Ismail Mohamed also co-founded Pertama.

He started his career by setting up a company and being the founder of JYBB Enterprise. His career came to prominence when he became the co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Pertama Polyerethane Technology (M) Sdn Bhd and subsequently became the Special Officer to the Minister of Education in 2013.

Ismail Mohamed is acknowledged for his expertise in Agriculture and Agro-based industry, landing him being appointed as the Chairman of the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Committee of the Johor State, the Chairman of Agro KEJORA and the Chairman of the Johor State Agriculture, Agro-based industry, Entrepreneurial Development and Cooperatives Committee.
